The stage is set for Josh Kerr's World Record Mile Attempt on Saturday, which has been labeled Project 222 by Kerr and his team.

On July 18, Josh Kerr will attempt to break the standing Mile World Record of 3:43.13, set by Hicham El Guerrouj in 1999. The attempt has been labeled Project 222, which would translate to 222 seconds and thus a 3:42 mile.

Fresh off of an Indoor World 3K Championship, it has been announced that Josh Kerr will race the mile at the London Diamond League Meeting (the Novuna London Athletics Meet) on Saturday, July 18.

The biggest meet of the Indoor season commenced this past weekend, on March 20th, as the 2026 World Indoor Championships took place in Torun, Poland. Countries from across the globe sent their best athletes to compete for a spot on the podium and a chance at history.
