Shamil Sharipov dropped a match to Yedige Kassimbek (4-3) at the 2026 Polyák Imre, Varga János & Kozma István Memorial. Despite that loss, Sharipov holds at #3 for his significant victories in the past year over Dinesh, Yonger Bastida, Wyatt Hendrickson (3 times), Kamil Kosciolek, Giorgi Meshvildishvili, and Abdulla Kurbanov. Outside of those wins, Sharipov's only losses are to #1 Amir Zare and Amirreza Masoumi (who would be #2 but he's ineligible to wrestle at worlds) in that time frame.

Kassimbek makes a big jump and debuts at #7 in the rankings for his victory over Sharipov. Along with that win, Kassimbek won gold at the 2026 Polyák Imre, Varga János & Kozma István Memorial while also defeating Kamil Kosciolek, Buheeerdun, and Omar Sarem. Kassimbek is kept from rising higher because of a loss to India's Dinesh in June at the Ulaanbaatar Open.
