97 kg - Kyle Snyder

Kyle Snyder takes over the #1 spot at 97 kg after defeating both Amirali Azarpira and Arash Yoshida on his way to gold in Zagreb. Prior to the loss to Snyder, Azarpira took out Akhmed Tazhudinov to make the finals.

Abdulrashid Sadulaev was unable to compete at Worlds this year due to visa issues, so Sadulaev falls to #4. Though Sadulaev is 3-1 in his career against Snyder, the two haven't wrestled since 2021. Beyond that, Sadulaev last competed at 97 kg in the World Championships in 2023, where he lost to Akhmed Tazhudinov and then forfeited out of the tournament. Because it's been four years since Snyder and Sadulaev have wrestled, and because he last loss to Tazhudinov, Sadulaev sticks at #2.
