The 2026 Bryan Clay Invitational will foster some of the fastest races of the 2026 outdoor season. It gives a chance for athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels to earn PRs and break records.

A strong night of distance racing unfolded in San Juan Capistrano as athletes delivered fast times across the board at The Ten. The women’s 1500m set the tone early, with Gabbi Jennings pulling away for the win in 4:07.69, leading a trio under 4:10. The men’s 1500m followed with one of the tightest finishes of the meet, as Oliver Hoare edged Waleed Suliman in a race that saw five athletes finish within just over a second.

San Juan Capistrano, California will once again host The Ten, one of the premier distance meets in the country, known for producing fast times and record-breaking performances.

San Juan, California, will once again host one of the fastest 10Ks in the world: The Ten. Scheduled for March 28, the meet will feature seeded sections of both the 10K and 5K for men and women.

The Rome Diamond League 5000m race, scheduled for June 6, could prove to be an ever-important race for Americans hoping to make a world team later this year.

The BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite is set for Saturday, Feb. 8. The meet will be streamed LIVE on FloTrack and will feature several high-impact storylines that you need to follow.

Back from a four-year competition ban, Olympian and 1500m American Record holder Shelby Houlihan made her return to the track today, running 8:31.56 to win the 3,000m at the 2025 Razorback Invitational at Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center in Fayetteville, AR. Her time set a new meet record and decimated Parker Valby's facility record (8:42.29) set at the 2024 SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Track and field has attempted to solve the challenges of racing while social distancing with remote match races, which pits competitors against each other simultaneously in separate locations. While the method is far less entertaining than the real thing, the sport has had fun with the circumstances by racing over unfamiliar distances. The Impossible Games and the OTC/ATC dual have gotten the format off to a good start, but I have some ideas for other virtual races I’d love to watch as we wait for the sport as we know it to return.

Many of the very best distance runners in the U.S., and in many cases the world, share a common thread: they have been coached by Jerry Schumacher on the Bowerman Track Club. The elite of the elite American distance training group has churned out droves of international superstars over the years under the watchful eye of Schumacher, who is widely regarded as one of the best distance coaches in the world.

The Bowerman Track Club's Shelby Houlihan enters this weekend's USATF Indoor Championship as the reigning two-mile and mile champion. The distances are a bit different this year and there's a lot more competition -- both given that 2018 is a World Indoors year -- but expect the 5K Olympian to contend for the win in two distance events yet again.
