A representative of Uzbekistan, Abullaev made his international wrestling debut as a cadet in 2014. Making the jump to the junior level in 2016, Abullaev would become a bronze medalist for Uzbekistan at the world championships. Abdullaev would follow that performance up with gold at the Asian championships in 2018.
