Mason Gibson was a 2021 Pennsylvania AA state runner-up as a high school freshman at Bishop McCort Catholic. Later that year, Gibson competed in Fargo and won a 16U Greco-Roman national title and placed third in freestyle. He entered the tournament ranked #5 in the country at 120 pounds but competed at 126.
