Anthony Valencia

Originally from Southern California, Anthony Valencia is an NCAA wrestler for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Anthony wrestled for St. John Bosco High School and trained at the infamous Monster Garage with the likes of Aaron Pico. He is the older brother of two-time NCAA champion Zahid Valencia, who also wrestled at Arizona State. Anthony made the 2014 USA Junior World Team and has competed at the senior level in freestyle wrestling since November of 2014.

    Flo takes a trip to Tempe, AZ to visit the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club. Olympic and world champion Helen Maroulis trains in AZ along with world medalists Kayla Miracle and Forrest Molinari. Zahid and Anthony Valencia, among others, also train out there.

    In 2014, we put together one of our greatest Junior World Teams ever: Moody (50kg), Gilman (55kg), McKenna (60kg), Pico (66kg), Valencia (74kg), Dean (84kg), Snyder (96kg), Coon (120kg). When all was said and done, Team USA took 2nd in the world as a team and came back with 5 medals in 7 weight classes. The boys went into Croatia "prepared to fight."
