Two-time reigning national champion Ferris State and Grand Valley State enter the 2026 season ranked No. 1 and No. 20 nationally, respectively, according to FloCollege Way-Too-Early D2 Football Rankings.

GLIAC football action gets underway on Thursday, Aug. 27 with five games on the schedule -- No. 1 Ferris State at No. 7 Pittsburg State, No. 6 Grand Valley State at Charleston, Michigan Tech at Bemidji State, Saginaw Valley State vs. McKendree and Northern Michigan at Minnesota State-Moorhead.
