Looking for a creative way to support a volleyball player with a poster? We can help!
One of the easiest ways to make a cute poster for your favorite volleyball player is to use their jersey number. Whether you’re cheering from the student section or supporting a family member, a personalized sign gives your player a little extra love from the stands.

Here are some helpful tips to help you as you support your favorite volleyball player on FloCollege this season.
Make Their Jersey Number The Star
Turn your player’s number into part of the message. Supporting No. 2? Try “2 Legit to Hit!” Cheering for No. 10? Go with “A Perfect 10!” For No. 1, “Our #1 on and off the court” keeps things simple and sweet.
You can also make any number work with “Watch out for #!” or “# on the court, #1 in our hearts.”
Have Fun With Volleyball Puns
Volleyball gives you plenty of material for a clever sign. Try “You Got Served,” “Block Party,” “Set for Success,” or “Digging Every Minute.”
Match the message to your player’s position: “Access Denied” for a middle blocker, “Can You Dig It?” for a libero or “Setting You Up for Greatness” for a setter.
Add A Personal Touch
Use school colors, oversized lettering and a volleyball illustration to help your poster stand out. Add the player’s name, nickname or a favorite photo for something uniquely theirs.
Keep the main message short enough to read across the gym, and make sure your sign doesn’t block another fan’s view. A little creativity—and a loud cheering section—can go a long way.
One
- #1 on the court and #1 in my heart
- #1 is my #1
- With #1 the game is won
Two
- #2, I see you
- Whatever you do, set #2
- This crew is here for #2
Three
- The key to success is in #3
- #3, wave to me
- Float like a serve and sting like #3
- #3, you're the only one I see
- #3, you're the best, we all agree
- Hey Mr. Referee, be nice to #3
Four
- #4 is hardcore
- #4 knows how to score
- I adore #4
- Dear "other team," I wouldn't ignore #4

- #4's hits crack the floor

- Hop aboard team, let #5 drive
- We always survive with #5
- Don't deprive the team, set #5
Six
- #6 has tricks

- #6, smile, I'm taking pics
- #6 always has the fix
Seven
- #7's (serve/pass/hit) is a glimpse of heaven
Eight
- There's no debate, the best is #8
- #8 is my date

- #9, you're looking fine
Ten

- #10, I'll be Barbie if you'll be Ken
The higher jersey numbers can be broken down by their two digits, and you can use ideas from above that correspond with the second number. For example, for #23 you could say, "Twenty-three you're the best, we all agree."
If the jersey number poster slogans don't catch your eye, you can try making a poster for the player based off the player's position.
If he or she is a hitter/blocker, then the following ideas are applicable:
- "Prepare to be housed, (other team's name)"
- "Local roofing company run by (player's name)"
- "Block Party"
If the player is a passer or back row player, then try out one of these:
- "The diving play could save the day! Go #4"
- "She (he) may be small but she's (he's) mighty!"
- "Her (his) skill in serve receive is hard to believe"
- "#4 serves it hot, don't get burned"
- "Think your hit is intense? Check out #4's defense"
If you like any of these ideas, or want to mix and match a few of the slogans then go right ahead. The whole goal of a poster is to show your support for a player or a team, and we hope some of these can stand out in a crowd for you!
