Boo! Gotcha. Happy Halloweekend. Playoff pressure makes this week’s five predictions feel scarier than usual. There are three weeks left in the regular season, which means 15 picks to go.

This week’s slate could shake up the Landmark, NWC and NEWMAC races. Here are five picks, including a potential upset at Berry and Springfield’s chance to stay unbeaten in conference play.

Lycoming Upsets Susquehanna For The Landmark Lead

Susquehanna has yet to lose a Landmark Conference game, but Lycoming enters Saturday at 4-0 in league play. A win would give the Warriors a major head-to-head advantage in the conference race.

Lycoming coach Mike Clark is looking for his 100th career win, and his son, Brendan, is back for his fifth year. The milestone is within reach, but the matchup will be tough: Susquehanna leads the conference in offense and rushing, and running back Matt Surtz leads the Landmark in rushing and scoring. For Lycoming, Trinity Hill-Caleb leads in tackles for loss, while Aiden Barlett leads in interceptions.

Prediction: Lycoming defeats Susquehanna.

Centre Beats No. 16 Berry

Here comes an upset pick. Berry is 6-1 and 3-1 in the SAA, but Centre has freshman quarterback Mason Trimble, who has thrown for seven touchdowns in each of his last two games. Against Sewanee, he completed 25 of 33 passes for 465 yards and seven scores.

Berry’s defense has allowed just 20 points over its last three games. It will need another strong performance to slow Trimble and the Centre offense.

Prediction: Berry drops out of the rankings after a loss to Centre.

Baldwin Wallace Shuts Out Wilmington

Baldwin Wallace is 7-0 overall and 5-0 in OAC play, tied for first in the conference. The Yellow Jackets have won every game by at least 24 points, including a 31-7 win over Marietta.

Wilmington is 2-5 and has struggled to keep pace with the OAC’s top teams. I don’t see the Quakers stopping Baldwin Wallace’s run.

Prediction: Wilmington goes scoreless against Baldwin Wallace.

Linfield Takes The NWC Lead With A Win Over Lewis & Clark

Linfield and Lewis & Clark are both 4-0 in NWC play, with their matchup set to put one team ahead in the conference race. Lewis & Clark has won five straight overall, while Linfield has won four straight.

Both teams beat Whitworth, but by very different margins. Lewis & Clark won 43-41 in triple overtime, while Linfield won 32-19 in regulation. I’m taking the Wildcats to keep their streak going.

Prediction: Linfield takes the NWC lead with a win over Lewis & Clark.

Springfield Stays Unbeaten In NEWMAC Play

Springfield moved to 4-0 in NEWMAC play and No. 24 in the FloCollege D3 rankings after beating Merchant Marine 30-12 in Week 8. The Pride have won five straight NEWMAC titles and are in position to keep that run going.

Coast Guard is 2-2 in conference play, while Springfield’s Stanford Davis is averaging more than 95 rushing yards per game. The Pride have also won their last 12 meetings with Coast Guard.

Prediction: Springfield beats Coast Guard to stay unbeaten in NEWMAC play.
