Cal Poly enters the 2026-27 season with returning NCAA qualifiers, a challenging non-conference opener and a stretch of Pac-12 matchups that could help shape the Mustangs' postseason outlook.

With five home duals scheduled at the Mott Athletics Center, Cal Poly will have several opportunities to test its lineup against quality competition in front of its home fans.

From returning NCAA qualifiers to a Big Ten opponent and key conference matchups, here are the reasons to watch Cal Poly's home duals live on FloWrestling this season.

Michigan State Brings A Big Ten Challenge

Cal Poly opens its home dual schedule against Michigan State on Nov. 13.

The matchup gives the Mustangs an early opportunity to test themselves against Big Ten competition. With the dual taking place during Alumni Weekend, the event also offers Cal Poly fans a chance to see the program compete against a nonconference opponent with a long wrestling tradition.

The meeting marks the first time the programs have faced each other since 1979, adding another storyline to the season's opening home dual.

Koda Holeman And Ceasar Garza Return After NCAA Appearances

One of the biggest reasons to follow Cal Poly this season is the return of wrestlers with NCAA Championship experience.

Koda Holeman and Ceasar Garza both qualified for the 2026 NCAA Championships, giving the Mustangs experienced competitors to watch as the team works through its schedule. Their performances will be worth following as Cal Poly looks to build momentum and develop its lineup ahead of the postseason.

Zeth Romney is another name to watch. Romney earned All-America honors with a third-place finish at 133 lbs at the 2025 NCAA Championships before a season-ending injury in December.

Four Straight Home Duals Put Pac-12 Competition In Focus

After opening its home schedule in November, Cal Poly returns to San Luis Obispo for a four-dual stretch against conference opponents in January and February.

The Mustangs will host Little Rock on Jan. 17, South Dakota State on Jan. 22, North Dakota State on Jan. 24 and Northern Colorado on Feb. 5.

Those matchups will provide Cal Poly with an extended look at conference competition as the regular season progresses. The stretch also gives fans multiple chances to follow the Mustangs at home as they work toward the Pac-12 Championships.

South Dakota State And North Dakota State Add To The Challenge

The back-to-back matchups against South Dakota State and North Dakota State will be notable tests during Cal Poly's January home stand.

Both duals give the Mustangs opportunities to evaluate their lineup against different opponents, with individual matchups potentially playing a major role in the team results.

For fans following Cal Poly throughout the season, the weekend stretch offers a chance to see how the team responds to consecutive tests before the final weeks of the regular season.

Cal Poly Looks To Build On Its Pac-12 Success

Cal Poly won a program-record three individual Pac-12 titles in 2026. The Mustangs will look to carry that conference success into the 2026-27 campaign while preparing for another postseason run.

The Pac-12 Championships are scheduled for March 4-5 in Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by the NCAA Championships on March 18-20 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The home dual schedule will give Cal Poly opportunities to build toward those events, with each matchup providing another chance to sharpen its lineup and compete as the postseason approaches.
