Campbell football set a program record with its seventh win of 2026, beating Maine 35-6 as Kamden Sixkiller threw for a school-record 450 yards.
Seven wins. One loss. And a quarterback named Sixkiller.
Campbell football is having a season unlike any other in its modern history, and Saturday's 35-6 victory over Maine gave the Fighting Camels another reason to celebrate.

No. 13 Campbell improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in CAA play on Oct. 24, breaking the program's single-season wins record since football returned to Buies Creek in 2008.
The Camels have now won five straight games, remain unbeaten against FCS opponents and are firmly in the conversation for their first NCAA FCS playoff appearance.
And if Saturday was any indication, they aren't slowing down.
Kamden Sixkiller Throws For 450 Yards In Campbell Football Win

Campbell quarterback Kamden Sixkiller had himself an afternoon in Orono, Maine.
The senior completed 29 of 44 passes for a school-record 450 yards and three touchdowns, spreading the ball around to 13 different receivers as Campbell piled up 562 yards of total offense.
Jyron Waiters led the receiving corps with seven catches for 155 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Jon Gullette contributed touchdowns through the air and on the ground, opening the scoring with a 53-yard reception before adding a one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
Campbell's defense was just as impressive, holding Maine to six points and limiting the Black Bears to two conversions on 17 third-down attempts.
What started as a competitive 14-6 game at halftime turned into a rout as the Camels scored 21 unanswered points in the second half.
Campbell Football Sets Program Record With Seventh Win

For most FCS programs, seven wins would be a solid season.
For Campbell, it's history.
Before Saturday, the Fighting Camels had never won more than six games in a season since reviving their football program in 2008.
They reached that mark in 2011, 2017, 2018 and 2019, but never managed to get over the hump.
That changed in Maine.
Under third-year head coach Braxton Harris, the Camels have gone from an overlooked CAA program to a legitimate conference contender.
And they still have four regular-season games remaining.
Can Campbell Football Make Its First FCS Playoff Appearance?

That's becoming a much more interesting question.
Campbell has never appeared in the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs, but at 7-1 with an undefeated CAA record, the Camels are building their strongest postseason case yet.
Their lone loss came against FBS opponent Florida on Sept. 12. Since then, Campbell has won five consecutive games, including conference victories over North Carolina A&T, Hampton, Towson and Maine.
The Camels were absent from the NCAA selection committee's first Top 10 rankings on Oct. 20, but their latest victory gives the committee another result to consider.
Four games remain, and Campbell still has plenty to prove before Selection Sunday on Nov. 22.
But for a program that had never won seven games in its modern era, the possibility of playing postseason football is suddenly looking a lot more realistic.
Campbell Football Schedule: Who Do The Camels Play Next?
Campbell returns to action Saturday, Oct. 31, when the Camels travel to face UAlbany.
Their remaining regular-season schedule includes:
Oct. 31: at UAlbany
Nov. 7: vs. Stony Brook
Nov. 14: at Elon
Nov. 21: vs. Monmouth
The final stretch could determine whether Campbell captures the CAA championship and earns its first FCS playoff berth.
Seven wins are already in the record books.
Now the Camels have their sights set on something even bigger.
