From experienced scorers to versatile forwards, the league features a group of athletes looking to lead their programs into championship contention.
With the conference's preseason awards announced and the regular-season opener approaching, here are five players to know ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Gigi Gamble, Monmouth
Monmouth senior guard Gigi Gamble enters the season with one of the biggest honors in the conference: CAA Preseason Player of the Year.
Gamble averaged 15.2 points per game last season, ranking fourth in the CAA in scoring.
She reached double figures in 21 games and delivered multiple 20-point performances.
One of her most impressive outings came against Towson on March 5, when she scored a career-high 41 points while shooting 14-of-20 from the field and 6-of-7 from beyond the arc.
With Monmouth Women's Basketball entering the season as the unanimous preseason favorite after receiving all 12 possible first-place votes from opposing coaches, Gamble will be a central figure in the Hawks' championship pursuit.
Divine Dibula, Monmouth
Gamble isn't the only Monmouth player entering the season with preseason recognition.
Fifth-year forward Divine Dibula earned a spot on the Preseason All-CAA First Team after averaging 13.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game last season.
Her presence gives the Hawks another experienced contributor as they prepare for a season filled with championship expectations.
Cassidy Geddes, William & Mary
William & Mary Women's Basketball senior guard Cassidy Geddes enters the season as one of the CAA's top returning players.
A second-team All-CAA selection last season, Geddes recorded seven games with at least 20 points and surpassed the 1,000-point career milestone.
Now a Preseason All-CAA First Team honoree, Geddes will look to help the Tribe build on its place among the conference's contenders.
Laine McGurk, Drexel
Drexel Women's Basketball senior guard Laine McGurk returns after averaging 12.8 points per game last season.
Her campaign included a career-high 33-point performance against Pitt, showcasing her scoring ability against nonconference competition.
McGurk earned Preseason All-CAA First Team honors, and with Drexel picked third in the preseason poll, she will be a player to follow as the Dragons challenge for a top conference finish.
Paris Locke, North Carolina A&T
Senior forward Paris Locke returns to North Carolina A&T Women's Basketball after averaging 11.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season.
Locke earned Preseason All-CAA First Team recognition and will be an important player for an Aggies team picked sixth in the conference preseason poll.
With her experience and production, Locke will look to help North Carolina A&T make its way into the conference championship conversation.
