Replay: Ferris State vs Grand Valley | Oct 17 @ 3 PM3:16:06

For a bit, it looked like Grand Valley State might be the team to finally take down No. 1 Ferris State.

Ferris State erased an early 17-0 deficit and stormed back to beat No. 13 Grand Valley State 41-34 in the 2026 Anchor-Bone Classic on Saturday at Lubbers Stadium.

The Lakers came out swinging, forcing two turnovers and building a 17-point lead in the first quarter. But Ferris State answered with 34 straight points, turning what looked like a potential upset into another win for the defending national champions.

Quarterback Wyatt Bower led the charge with 153 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 53-yard score in the fourth quarter. GVSU made things interesting late, cutting the lead to seven, but couldn't complete the comeback.

Ferris State improves to 7-0 and keeps its unbeaten streak alive, while Grand Valley State drops to 5-2 after its second straight loss.

Catch up on the final score, stats, highlights and updates from the 2026 Anchor-Bone Classic below.
