Always go with your gut, not mine. Besides, it's fun to be wrong about these things.

This week's picks are a bit more obvious now that we're deep into conference action. Conferences are not won in the first few weeks, but playoff spots can quickly be ripped away if teams aren't careful.

Every week I have made a prediction about a UW school, and every week I have been correct.

The past two weeks have been about UW-Whitewater, so let's keep that party going.

No. 4 UW-Whitewater Washes Away No. 3 UW-Platteville

These are the only undefeated teams left in the WIAC. One team will emerge victorious, and after Whitewater beats Platteville, it will remain undefeated in WIAC play. Cue the Jaws theme song.

Whitewater has a better offense, averaging 215 rushing yards per game, while Platteville out-throws the Warhawks, averaging 307 passing yards per game.

My money goes to Whitewater after analyzing the defenses. Whitewater leads Platteville in interceptions, fumbles forced and fumbles recovered. Stats can say all they want, and they will never tell you what will happen in the game. But my gut says what it wants, and it believes in Whitewater.

Prediction: No. 4 UW-Whitewater defeats No. 3 UW-Platteville.

No. 21 Springfield...Duh

Springfield and WPI are tied in the NEWMAC standings, each with a 2-0 conference record. On Saturday, October 17, they will play each other, and one perfect record will come to an end. Whoever wins will join USMMA at the top of the NEWMAC.

Just by looking at the season's stats, it is clear that Springfield is the favorite. Stanford Davis is the best fullback in DIII with 491 rushing yards for Springfield this season, compared to Josh Macomber's 297 yards for WPI. As a team, Springfield averages almost three times as many rushing yards per game as WPI.

Even though WPI is miles above its 2025 performance, when it earned only one conference win, it is only a matter of time before Springfield shows them who's boss.

Prediction: No. 21 Springfield beats WPI in a shutout.

Ursinus Moves Up In Rankings After Win Over McDaniel

Welcome to the rankings, Ursinus! After a massive win over McDaniel College (40-14), Ursinus sneaks into the Top 25, positioning itself at the No. 24 spot.

On Saturday, the Bears will take on Johns Hopkins. These two teams have replaced each other in the rankings. Johns Hopkins reached as high as fourth in Week 1 but now sits 140th. The Blue Jays have not won a game since their Week 1 victory over Ithaca.

Ursinus currently leads the Centennial Conference with an undefeated conference record. With this trajectory, the Bears will win the Centennial and earn a bid to the DIII NCAA tournament.

Prediction: No. 24 Ursinus shuts out Johns Hopkins.

No. 16 Susquehanna Scores Big Against Moravian

Susquehanna is the king of the Landmark and has continued to prove it this season as the only team ranked in the Top 25.

On Saturday, October 17, the River Hawks play Moravian. Moravian has had a rough season, as the Greyhounds bring up the rear of the conference. Over the past two weeks, they have lost to Juniata by two points and have been shut out by Western Connecticut. Another shutout is possible against Susquehanna, but its offense still has potential.

Dorian Thomas is among the top running backs in the conference, averaging 43 rushing yards per game. Alongside Antonio Russo, he has the potential to put the Greyhounds on the board.

However, those two will be no match for running back Matt Surtz, who averages 102 rushing yards per game, and Tommy Wright, who has 86 completed passes this season.

Susquehanna has 21 touchdowns on the season, compared to Moravian's nine.

The River Hawks have this game in the bag, but tune in to FloCollege at 12 p.m. ET to check if I'm correct.

Prediction: No. 16 Susquehanna badly beats Moravian.
