One of the most competitive conferences in women’s basketball is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Eleven teams from the Midwest battle for the title every year, but one team has largely dominated in recent years.
Grand Valley State has won the last two NCAA D2 championship titles, hoisting the trophy in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 2025 and 2026. Their back-to-back titles were accompanied by the last six regular-season titles (excluding 2019-20 season due to COVID-19) and the last four tournament titles (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026).
Although it's been all-GVSU the past two years, the GLIAC is a conference filled with talent. Three other teams also received bids to the NCAA Tournament: Wayne State, Ferris State and Northern Michigan.
