Who Was Wilford Moore?
Wilford Moore played football at Hardin-Simmons from 1938 to 1940 before becoming the head football coach at McMurry from 1947 to 1954.
Moore led McMurry to multiple conference championships and became one of the most successful coaches in the school's history.
He also earned induction into both universities' athletic halls of fame, making him a natural namesake for a rivalry connecting the two schools.
