One Overtime Win Changed Everything
Angelo State's trip to Western Oregon changed the DNA of this matchup.

Quarterback Ayden Arp threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns, including a 12-yard touchdown to Alan Dobbins in overtime. Instead of kicking the extra point, Angelo State went for the win, with Arp finding Trevor Winn for the deciding two-point conversion.

Central Washington Is Rolling

After opening against FCS opponent Cal Poly and No. 1 Ferris State, CWU beat Western Oregon 45-36 and Sul Ross State 61-22 to begin LSC play 2-0.
The Wildcats piled up 620 total yards against Sul Ross State, including 443 on the ground. Ryder Bumgarner rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns, while Antoine Lee added 114 yards.
Quarterback Justin Brennan gives CWU another way to attack. Brennan threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns in the comeback victory over Western Oregon.
Central Washington enters Week 5 averaging 453.8 yards of offense per game.
There's More Than Just A Win On The Line
Central Washington won the 2025 Lone Star Conference championship with a perfect 9-0 conference record and entered this season as the preseason favorite to repeat.
The Wildcats are already 2-0 in LSC play.
Angelo State sits at 1-1 after losing to West Texas A&M before beating Western Oregon.
That makes Saturday another opportunity for CWU to protect its place among the conference's unbeaten teams, while Angelo State can climb back into the race by beating the defending champion.
