After just recently breaking the World Record for the event, Brazil's Alison Dos Santos leads the semi-finalists with a time of 47.25, followed by Rai Benjamin of the United States in 47.49, with Karsten Warholm of Norway to follow in 47.68 after winning his heat.

Oblique Seville took second in 9.90, with Ronnie Baker of the United States squeaking by Nigeria's Kayinsola Ajayi by .004 to take third in 9.93.
