The Six Nations Chiefs Lacrosse have spent the past three Mann Cups establishing a dynasty. The Coquitlam Adanacs Lacrosse have spent 19 years trying to get back.
Those paths collide beginning Sept. 11 when Six Nations and Coquitlam meet for Canada's Senior A men's box lacrosse championship at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
The best-of-seven series pits the Major Series Lacrosse champion against the Western Lacrosse Association champion. Six Nations is chasing a fourth consecutive Mann Cup and 10th championship overall, while Coquitlam is making its first appearance since 2007 and seeking its second title.

Here are the biggest storylines to know before Six Nations vs. Coquitlam.
Six Nations Is Chasing A Fourth Straight Mann Cup
Everything starts with the Chiefs.
Six Nations won the Mann Cup in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and enters this series attempting to push its current dynasty into even rarer territory. A fourth straight would surpass the Chiefs' previous three-peat from 1994-96 and put this group alongside Peterborough's 1951-54 four-peat among the great runs of the indoor Mann Cup era.
The Chiefs didn't cruise unchallenged into the 2026 Mann Cup.
They swept Cobourg 3-0 in the MSL semifinals before Peterborough took two games from them in the league final. Six Nations responded by winning Game 5, 11-5, and closing the series with a 10-3 victory in Game 6. Doug Jamieson was named MSL Finals MVP.
That run provides one of the series' important subplots: Six Nations remains the team everyone is trying to dethrone, but Peterborough demonstrated that the Chiefs can be beaten.
Six Nations Has Serious Offensive Depth
For NLL fans, the Chiefs roster includes plenty of recognizable names.
Dhane Smith and Josh Byrne were among the NLL's leading scorers during the 2025-26 season, while Ian MacKay gives Six Nations another major offensive and transition weapon. Andrew Kew brings additional scoring ability, and the Chiefs' options also include Lyle Thompson, Shayne Jackson and Ryan Smith.
That depth showed up in the MSL championship clincher. MacKay, Smith, Chris Cloutier, Jackson, Kew, Byrne, Ryan Smith and Tyson Bell all scored in Game 6 against Peterborough.
The Chiefs also have experience in goal. Jamieson enters the Mann Cup after earning MSL Finals MVP honors, while Warren Hill gives Six Nations another experienced option.
There is also a Buffalo connection for NLL viewers: John Tavares coaches Six Nations and the Buffalo Bandits, with Smith, Byrne and MacKay among the prominent players connected to both teams.
Coquitlam Is Back After 19 Years
Coquitlam's storyline is almost the opposite.
The Adanacs had not reached the Mann Cup since 2007. Their only national championship came in 2001. Now they're back after navigating the WLA playoffs and beating the Victoria Shamrocks in six games for the league championship.
Coquitlam advanced through Maple Ridge before facing Victoria, finally taking the step that had eluded the club one year earlier when it reached the WLA final but did not win the league championship.
The reward is one of the toughest possible assignments: trying to stop a three-time defending champion with every game played on Six Nations' floor.
Christian Del Bianco Could Be Coquitlam's Equalizer
If Coquitlam is going to challenge Six Nations' offensive depth, Christian Del Bianco could become one of the defining players of the series.
The Adanacs goaltender is a former NLL MVP and Goaltender of the Year who went 13-5 for Vancouver during the 2025-26 NLL regular season and again was among the league's Goaltender of the Year finalists.
His ability in goal gives Coquitlam a potential answer to the Chiefs' collection of scorers. An elite goaltending performance can change the complexion of a best-of-seven series, particularly if the Adanacs can limit Six Nations' transition opportunities.
Robert Church gives Coquitlam a proven veteran scoring presence, while Kean Moon emerged as another prominent offensive contributor during the Adanacs' 2026 run.
That creates perhaps the most compelling on-floor matchup of the series: Del Bianco and the Adanacs trying to contain one of the deepest offenses in Canadian Senior A box lacrosse.
Home Floor Could Matter
There is no trip back to British Columbia waiting for Coquitlam.
The Mann Cup is a best-of-seven series, but unlike many professional postseason formats, all games are played in the host region. The first team to win four games becomes champion.
In 2026, every possible game is scheduled for Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
That means the Chiefs can pursue their fourth straight championship entirely in their home environment, while the Adanacs must win the national title without hosting a game in British Columbia.
It also gives the series additional significance for Six Nations. The Chiefs represent Six Nations of the Grand River, and their attempt to complete a historic four-peat will take place in their own lacrosse community.
