Michigan Tech defeated Midwestern State 48-27 on Saturday, fueled by a dominant ground game and a defense that forced four turnovers in a high-scoring non-conference matchup.

The Huskies generated offense in multiple ways behind quarterback Elliott Larner, who accounted for four total touchdowns. Larner threw for 240 yards and two scores while adding 85 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Running back Jake Rueff also eclipsed the 100-yard mark, finishing with 113 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Midwestern State continued to battle throughout the afternoon behind quarterback Kaden Brown, who threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns. The Mustangs produced several explosive plays through the air, including a 78-yard touchdown connection from Brown to Aanjay Feliciano, and cut into the deficit multiple times in the second half.

Michigan Tech's defense proved to be the difference, however, recording three interceptions and consistently creating extra possessions. Chase Koch led the effort with two interceptions, while Jamison Stamps added another as the Huskies pulled away late to secure the victory.
