After chasing the best track and field athletes in the world from country to country, the train rolled to its last stop in Brussels, Belgium for the Diamond League 2026 final.
The legendary setting for the Memorial Van Damme, King Baudouin Stadium and nearly 40,000 fans will provide the backdrop for two days of incredible competition. There were storylines everywhere you looked and Friday was full of meet records being broken and history being made.

A Diamond League record in the men's 400m closed out the first night when Collen Kebinatshipi won his first Diamond Trophy and set a new national record along the way, 43.40.

Mondo Duplantis Pulled Out Of Final After Tightness In Warm-Up
According to the broadcast, Armand Duplantis will no longer compete in today's pole vault final, explaining that he had been feeling tightness in his leg and it had flared up during warm-up.
"It's terrible. It's not what you want to do as an athlete. You always want to compete. It breaks my heart. I hate this so much," he said.

The 2024 Olympic Silver medalist Feng Bin threw her best of the season when it mattered most to end Valerie Sion's five-year title-winning streak in the women's discus event. It's Feng's first Diamond Trophy and the first athlete from China to win since 2019.
It was Feng's best throw in a Diamond League event since May 30, 2024, with a 67.89 in Oslo.

Chase Jackson Breaks Diamond League Shotput Record - 21.14
Things are just getting started out in Brussels with and although the sun is not down yet, the fireworks are flying for Chase Jackson.
The two-time World Champion gold medalist made the historic throw in the third round and it was just her second throw ever to surpass the 21-meter mark.
She earned first Diamond League champion crown of 2026.
