138 - Dean Anderson vs Gavin Mangano
Valiant Prep’s Dean Anderson snagged the nation’s top spot at U20 Pan Ams when he defeated former #1 and current Michigan freshman Moses Mendoza. He’ll look to defend his #1 ranking against the last wrestler to beat him in high school competition: Gavin Mangano.
Anderson’s accolades over the last 12 months have been impressive. He reached the finals of the U20 US Open at 61 kg and secured U20 Pan Am gold. He also gets it done in folksyle. Anderson finished 4th at Super 32 in October and followed that up with a slate of college open tournaments.
Gavin Mangano secured a 3rd place finish at Super 32 where he defeated Anderson 1-0. He missed time during the freestyle season but can take the nation’s top spot with a victory over Anderson at Who’s Number One.

165 - Melvin Miller vs Cam Howard
Team USA’s last two 71 kg representatives at the U17 World Championships will square off at 165 lbs for the nation’s top spot at Who’s Number One. Bishop McCort, PA standout Melvin Miller will take on Bellport, NY’s Cam Howard on September 26 at Oklahoma State.
Melvin Miller is no stranger to the Who’s Number One stage. In last year’s event, Miller put up 19 points en route to a major decision victory against Maximus Dhabolt of Iowa. In 2024, he fell to eventual Oklahoma State NCAA champ Landon Robideau.

Likewise, Cam Howard is a Whose Number One returner. Last year, he won a dramatic 7-6 thriller against current Illinois freshman Wyatt Medlin with a last second escape.

Both Miller and Howard are Fargo champs, state champs, and U17 World Team Members. Now they will meet for the first time at Who’s Number One with the nation’s top spot on the line.
144 - Jesse Grajeda vs Braylon Reynolds
We’ll have a Fargo finals rematch at 144 lbs on September 26 at Who’s Number One. Jesse Grajeda took round one in this series in July. In the end, it was an 11-0 tech for Grajeda which makes him the favorite heading into their first folkstyle meeting later this month.

Grajeda enters his senior season after a junior year in which he won titles at the Reno TOC, Doc Buchanan, and the California State Tournament. He followed that up with a Fargo title. Before Grajeda heads to Ohio State next year, he’ll look to add a Who’s Number One victory to his resume.
Braylon Reynolds enters Who’s Number One after a junior season that included a podium finish at Ironman and an Indiana state title. On the freestyle scene, he not only reached the Fargo finals, he also notched a victory over Michigan freshman and Wisconsin standout Kellen Wolbert at Junior Duals.

175 lbs - Jayden O’Farrill vs Zack Aquila
State College, Pennsylvania junior Jayden O’Farrill and Brecksville, Ohio senior Zack Aquila will meet for the first time at Who’s Number One with the nation’s top spot on the line!
O’Farrill was unable to compete during his sophomore year due to injury, but the 2025 Fargo champ made the Super 32 finals last October and qualified for the U17 World Championships with a US Open title in April. Throughout his career, he’s put up some of the nastiest highlights in high school wrestling. Do yourself a favor and look up YouTube shorts featuring O’Farrill. You’ll find headlocks, inside trips, head pinches, and more. Here’s an example from the U17 World Team Trials finals.
Zack Aquila capped off a solid junior campaign with an Ohio state title. He entered the freestyle season following a scholastic run that included podium finishes at Ironman and Beast of the East, but he raised his stock in a big way at Junior Duals and Fargo. He was 7-0 at Junior Duals and won Fargo. His Fargo final was a wild, come-from-behind victory over Mario Carini in which he trailed 7-1 in the second period. Now he’s earned his spot in Who’s Number One in what should be a high-flying bout with O’Farrill.

157 lbs - Michael Romero vs Mac Crosson
At 157 lbs, Who’s Number One will feature a bout between two of the nation’s rising middleweight stars when Oklahoma State commit Michael Romero takes on future Nebraska Cornhusker Mac Crosson.
These two met last year at Junior Duals in a tightly contested bout that Romero won 5-3, but they’ve been running in the same national-level circles for a lot longer than that. Way back in 2022, Romero and Crosson both won Fargo titles in the summer between their 7th and 8th grade years. Romero won the title at 100 lbs, and Crosson took home the 88 lbs stop sign.

The stock of both of these wrestlers has risen over the past 12 months. Romero made a move up the rankings this January when he won a tough Doc Buchanan bracket and knocked off Joe Bachmann in the finals. He followed that up with a California state title to end his season.
Crosson has also been impressive this year. Before reaching the Fargo finals in July, he knocked off U17 World teamer Cam Howard at the U20 World Team Trials and defeated Wisconsin standout Haakon Peterson at Junior Duals.
This Who’s Number One showdown will be the first folkstyle contest between the two, and it has a chance to be one of the most exciting matches of the event.

132 lbs - Grey Burnett vs Paul Kenny
The 132 lbs matchup at Who’s Number One features two wrestlers who have been competing against each other for a decade. U17 World champ #2 Paul Kenny will look to take the top spot from U17 World bronze medalist Grey Burnett on September 26 in Stillwater.
These two wrestled as recently as this June at the U20 World Team Trials where Burnett took a 6-1 victory over Kenny in the semifinals of the mini tournament. Their two previous freestyle matches went down in Las Vegas at the 2023 U17 World Team Trials where Kenny won a best of three series against Burnett to win the spot for Team USA. Kenny would go on to win gold that year at Worlds.
Kenny and Burnett’s most recent folkstyle matchup took place in December in the finals of the prestigious Ironman tournament. Burnett snagged a 4-2 decision in a match that concluded with Kenny in on a leg looking for a way to scramble for a victory.

But the Burnett and Kenny history goes back much further than high school. In fact, these two squared off in the Super 32 quarterfinals back in 2016! Do yourself a favor and watch the first matchup in this series. Not only could these youngsters scrap, their match ended with high drama!

126 lbs - Sammy Sanchez vs Landon Sidun
Two of the country’s most accomplished wrestlers will meet for the first time when California’s Sammy Sanchez takes on Pennsylvania’s Landon Sidun at Who’s Number One on September 26 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Few American high school wrestlers can match what Sanchez has accomplished internationally. The California star has won two U17 World titles, demonstrating the technical skill and composure required to navigate one of the toughest age-group tournaments in the sport.
Who’s Number One will give Sanchez another opportunity to show that his international success translates against the best folkstyle competition in the country, and his opponent, Landon Sidun, is no stranger to the spotlight.
Sidun enters this match with an impressive résumé of his own. The Norwin standout is a two-time Pennsylvania state champion who might be a three-timer if not for an injury in 2025 that kept him from competing. He also won a Fargo title in 2023.
He also owns a Who’s Number One victory over current Oklahoma State freshman Rocklin Zinkin from last year's event. Notably, Zinkin defeated Sanchez in the California state finals last season. The matchup presents an intriguing contrast between Sanchez’s extensive international experience and Sidun’s ability to thrive in high-profile folkstyle matches.
