Maine Defeats Towson 21-18: Results From The CAA Conference Opener

A comeback, splash plays and late drama: A perfect start to the CAA season. 

Maine beat Towson 21-18 on August 27 in Johnny Unitas Stadium in the first CAA matchup and D1 college football game of the year. The game was all-action from start to finish.

The Black Bears got off to a hot start, leading 21-0 in the second quarter before Towson shifted momentum with a late score in the first half.

Tigers wide receiver Cleveland Charlton had a massive day with 136 yards, but fumbled on the final Towson play of the game to give Maine the three-point win.
