The 2026 Paris Diamond League delivered a memorable day of world-class competition, highlighted by record-breaking performances across multiple events that did not disappoint.

Three Diamond League records fell during the meet, beginning with Busang Collen Kebinatshipi's 43.54 in the Men's 400m before Audrey Werro clocked 1:53.80 to rewrite the Women's 800m record. Marileidy Paulino added another historic performance with a world-leading 48.48 in the Women's 400m, breaking both the Diamond League and meet records.

The record-breaking performances extended beyond the track. Armand Duplantis cleared 6.13m to establish a new meet record in the men's pole vault, while Ziyi Yan launched a meet-record throw of 67.44m to claim the women's javelin title.

Duplantis Soars To Meet Record In Pole Vault Victory

Armand Duplantis once again proved why he's the standard in the men's pole vault, clearing 6.13m to claim victory and set a new meet record. Mitton leads Women's Shot Put

The action continues to build in Paris as the first field events progress. Sarah Mitton currently leads the women's shot put after a throw of 19.99 meters, while Armand Duplantis has safely cleared his opening height of 5.63 meters in the men's pole vault. The women's pole vault is also moving along, with the bar now set at 4.60 meters.

Women's Shot Put Up Next In Paris

The women's shot put competition is now underway in Paris, featuring one of the strongest fields of the day. European champion Jessica Schilder enters with the top personal best in the field at 21.09 meters, while Canada's Sarah Mitton and American Jaida Ross are also among the favorites after surpassing the 20-meter mark in their careers. Big marks could be on the horizon with several athletes capable of eclipsing the 20-meter mark.

Pole Vault Competitions Get Underway in Paris

The first field events of the day are underway as the men's and women's pole vault competitions begin in Paris. World record holder Armand Duplantis headlines the men's competition as he looks to continue his dominant Diamond League season, while Olympic champion Nina Kennedy leads a strong women's field. With two world-class competitions taking place simultaneously, the pole vault is one of the first marquee events to watch at today's meet.

Hunter Bell, Hull Lead Deep Women's 1500m Field

With Faith Kipyegon absent from the women's 1500 meters, the spotlight shifts to a stacked field led by Georgia Hunter Bell and Jessica Hull.

Hunter Bell enters Paris as the 2026 World Indoor 1500m champion after winning the title in Toruń in March with a British indoor record of 3:58.53. Hull, meanwhile, claimed Olympic silver in Paris in 2024 and owns a personal best of 3:50.83.

The depth of the field extends well beyond the favorites. Freweyni Hailu, Sarah Healy, Abbey Caldwell, Linden Hall, Agathe Guillemot, Katie Snowden, and Haregeweyni Kalayu have all broken the four-minute barrier, setting up one of the most competitive races on the schedu

Noah Lyles, Marcell Jacobs Renew Rivalry In Paris

One of the marquee events at the 2026 Paris Diamond League will feature Olympic champion Noah Lyles and former Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs lining up against each other once again in the men's 100 meters.

The two last met on June 4 at the Rome Diamond League, where Lyles claimed the win in 9.88 seconds. Emmanuel Eseme (9.94), Letsile Tebogo (9.95), and Jordan Anthony (9.96) followed closely behind, while Jacobs finished fifth in a season-best 9.99.

Their return to Paris carries extra significance. Lyles captured Olympic gold in the French capital with a 9.79, while Jacobs placed fifth in that final after winning the Olympic title in Tokyo three years earlier.
