Lyles powered through the half-lap sprint to lower Kishane Thompson's previous record of 14.92, run at the Miramar Invitational in April.
Behind him, Sinesipho Dambile of South Africa delivered a standout run of his own, clocking 14.78 for second place and a new African record. Australia’s Gout Gout finished third in 14.96.
