From the start, Tharp was locked in. His reaction was sharp, his rhythm between hurdles was clean, and by the midway point he had already separated himself from the field. Even a slightly shaky finish over the final barriers couldn’t slow what had already become a defining run of the championship, and arguably the entire sport this year.
