The road to the United Rugby Championship Grand Final now runs through Edinburgh and Dublin.

Following a dramatic quarterfinal weekend, four of the competition’s biggest clubs remain standing as Glasgow Warriors, Leinster Rugby, the DHL Stormers and Vodacom Bulls prepare to battle for places in the 2026 URC Grand Final.

The semifinal lineup brings together representatives from Scotland, Ireland and South Africa in what promises to be one of the most compelling weekends of the season.

Top-seeded Glasgow Warriors will face the Vodacom Bulls in the first semifinal at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in Edinburgh, while defending champions Leinster Rugby host the DHL Stormers at Aviva Stadium in Dublin later the same day.

Glasgow Warriors Renew Bulls Rivalry

The opening semifinal carries plenty of history.

Glasgow and the Bulls meet in the URC playoffs for the first time since the 2024 Grand Final when the Warriors traveled to Pretoria and stunned the South African side to claim the championship at Loftus Versfeld.

Now the Bulls will attempt to return the favor as they travel north looking to spoil Glasgow’s hopes of reaching another final.

Glasgow earned the No. 1 seed after finishing atop the regular-season standings and will enjoy home support in Edinburgh after confirming Scottish Gas Murrayfield as their playoff venue.

The Warriors have developed into one of Europe’s most complete teams under Franco Smith and will enter the semifinal with the confidence that comes from finishing first in the table and winning their quarterfinal.

For the Bulls, the opportunity to gain revenge for that Grand Final defeat adds another layer of intrigue to an already massive matchup.

Leinster And Stormers Clash In Dublin

The second semifinal features two former URC champions.

Defending champions Leinster will welcome the DHL Stormers to Dublin in a meeting between two of the competition’s most talented squads.

The Stormers became the first South African team to win the URC title when they lifted the trophy in 2022 and are back in the semifinals for the first time since 2023.

Leinster, meanwhile, continue their pursuit of another championship after securing the No. 2 seed during the regular season. Playing at Aviva Stadium gives the Irish province a significant advantage, but the Stormers have repeatedly shown they are capable of producing their best performances on the biggest stages.

With stars such as Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu leading the Cape Town side and Leinster boasting one of the deepest squads in European rugby, the matchup has all the ingredients of a classic playoff encounter.

Grand Final Spots On The Line

The staggered kickoff times were selected to ensure enough time is available should the opening semifinal require extra time or even a place-kicking competition to determine the winner.

Both matches will be broadcast internationally, with rugby fans around the world able to follow every moment as the race to the URC title reaches its final stages.

By the end of Saturday, only two teams will remain standing and one step away from lifting the BKT United Rugby Championship trophy.
