The Diamond League continues to deliver must-watch matchups, and this weekend’s men’s 400m in Rabat is no exception.

Featuring Olympic champions, world medalists, and some of the fastest men in the world this season, the event is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the meet. In an era where the men's 400m has become increasingly unpredictable, there are no guarantees once the gun goes off. Any athlete in this field is capable of leaving with the win.

The star-studded lineup includes:

Quincy Hall — Reigning Olympic champion

Bayapo Ndori — World Championships bronze medalist

Khaleb McRae — Indoor world record holder

Zakithi Nene — World Championships 4x400m bronze medalist

Jacory Patterson — 2025 Diamond League champion

Matthew Hudson-Smith — Olympic and World Championships silver medalist

Charles Dobson — Paris Olympic 4x400m silver medalist

Several athletes enter Rabat already in impressive form. Zakithi Nene leads the field with a season's best of 44.40, followed closely by Jacory Patterson at 44.41 and Bayapo Ndori at 44.62. All three have already broken the 45-second barrier this season and will look to continue that momentum against a deeper field.

However, much of the attention will be focused on athletes making their season debuts.

Khaleb McRae arrives after a breakout indoor campaign that firmly established him among the world's elite quarter-milers. The American shattered the indoor world record with a stunning 44.52 performance and now turns his attention to the outdoor season, where expectations are sky-high.

Also opening his campaign is Olympic champion Quincy Hall. Hall has not raced since last year's Diamond League meeting in Rome, but his championship pedigree and trademark closing strength make him an immediate contender whenever he steps on the track.

Add in Matthew Hudson-Smith, one of the most consistent performers in the event over the last several years, and the ingredients are there for a thrilling race.

With championship credentials spread throughout the field and multiple athletes already showing world-class form, the men's 400m in Rabat has all the makings of a classic.
