The United Rugby Championship playoffs have arrived with four blockbuster quarterfinals set to shape the road to the 2026 Grand Final.
Top-seeded Glasgow Warriors welcome Connacht Rugby to Scotstoun Stadium after finishing first in the table with 65 points, while Leinster Rugby, the defending champion, host the Fidelity SecureDrive Lions in Dublin after a dominant 68-14 victory over Ospreys in the final round of the regular season.
Of course, they could have used some of those points in a 41-19 loss to Bordeaux in the Investec Champions Cup Final on May 23.

In South Africa, the Vodacom Bulls host Munster Rugby at Loftus Versfeld in one of the most physical matchups of the weekend, while the DHL Stormers face Cardiff Rugby in a rematch after Cardiff beat the Stormers 22-16 in Round 18.
The playoff field features a mix of experienced contenders and breakthrough challengers. Leinster are appearing in the URC playoffs for the 11th straight season, Munster have reached the postseason for a 10th consecutive campaign and Glasgow are looking to capitalize on home-field advantage after finishing atop the standings. Those three clubs have won the last three URC titles, with the Stormers winning it the first year South African clubs were welcomed to the league.
Meanwhile, Cardiff Rugby are in the playoffs for the first time since the old Celtic League era, while the Lions are making their first URC postseason appearance.
The playoffs also showcase many of the league’s biggest stars. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu leads the URC with 158 points for the Stormers, Evan Roos enters the postseason with a league-best 12 tries and Handre Pollard continues to drive the Bulls attack heading into the knockout rounds.
With Irish-South African rivalries dominating the bracket and Glasgow trying to defend home turf in Scotland, the 2026 URC quarterfinals promise drama, physicality and major implications for the title race.
