UChicago baseball made program history Sunday, defeating No. 11 Bridgewater (Va.) 10-9 in a dramatic walk-off victory to capture its first NCAA Regional championship ever.

The No. 25 Maroons completed a perfect 3-0 weekend in the regional while extending their program-record winning streak to 19 games. The win also marked the school’s first-ever 30-win season.

After falling behind early, UChicago responded with a huge five-run second inning before battling through a back-and-forth game that came down to the final at-bat.

With the score tied 9-9 in the ninth inning, the Maroons delivered the game-winning run to seal one of the biggest victories in program history.

The regional title sends UChicago to the Super Regionals for the first time ever, continuing what has already become the greatest season in school history.
