UNCW Men's Golf Claims Ninth CAA Golf Title With Three Top-Five Finishers

The CAA wrapped up it's men's golf championship on Apr. 28. Here is a look back at how UNCW claimed its ninth CAA title.

The CAA golf championships have officially concluded with the completion of the Men's tournament on Apr. 28. 

A streak of excellence will continue for the Seahawks of UNCW as they claim their ninth CAA title. Highlighted by three top-five finishes, including the top individualist, the Seahawks bested the competition by 17 strokes. 

James Rico will take home the individual title after the three rounds of play. Rico shot 66, 70 and 66 for a cumulative score of 202. 

John Logan will also find a spot on the podium taking home third with a overall score of 209 over the course of 54 holes. 

Gray Mitchum will round out the top-five finisher list for UNCW. Mitchum tied for fourth in the field with round scores of 69,71 and 70 for a total score of 210. 

As a team, the Seahawks wrapped up the tournament with an 826 total score through the three rounds of play. 

UNCW will prepare for it's 12th NCAA tournament appearance as they await the announcement of the regional site on May. 6.
