Allyson Felix has announced that she will return to the sport and make an attempt to qualify for the 2028 LA Olympics in what she is calling 'Project Six'.
Felix will attempt to make her sixth Olympic Team - and compete in her hometown of Los Angeles when she will be age 42.

According to TIME Magazine's Sean Gregory, who broke the news this morning - Felix is calling her attempt a "live experiment in human potential."
She will re-unite with coach Bobby Kersee and make her official return to competition in 2027 after making a full return to a training schedule in October of 2026.
Notably, no American Sprinter has ever qualified for the Olympic Games in their 40's, but Felix certainly has the acumen to get the job done.
Felix has won seven Olympic Gold Medals and 11 in total. She has added 15 World Championship golds, three World Championship silvers, three World Championship bronze medals, three Diamond Trophies and 11 US Titles.
She is one of the most decorated athlete in US Track and Field History.
Felix last competed in 2022, at the World Outdoor Championships where she earned a Bronze in the Mixed Relay and a Gold in the 4x400m Relay.
"I know, at 40, I'm not at my peak," Felix told TIME Magazine. "I have no illusions about that. I'm very clear in what it is and what I want to see. And so I hope it's seen that way."
