The Penn Relays is one of the most prestigious track and field meets in the world and combines the best high school and college athletes in the country along with some of the most electric professional athletes in the sport.

This year, the Penn Relays turns 130 — about 120 years younger than the United States — and both will be celebrated starting on April 23.

The 130th Penn Relays, celebrating alongside America250, begins Thursday morning with high school runners from around the country competing in the 4x800. The first day of the meet will feature high school, masters and Special Olympics events before the first college track event at 5:30 p.m. at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
