Is Adelphi University the top Division II athletic program this spring? It’s a fair question—and one the Panthers are making increasingly difficult to ignore. Across multiple sports, Adelphi is stacking wins, chasing championships, and building momentum at exactly the right time.

From an undefeated men’s lacrosse team eyeing history to resurgent programs and consistent conference contenders, the Panthers are putting together one of the most impressive all-around seasons in the country. Simply put, few schools can match the depth of success Adelphi athletics is delivering this spring.
Adelphi Men’s Lacrosse: Chasing History
Adelphi men’s lacrosse is authoring a season for the record books. The Panthers remain the only undefeated team in Division II, riding a dominant 22-game winning streak while setting their sights on a historic third consecutive national championship.
A three-peat would place them alongside Adelphi women’s lacrosse (2009–2011) as the only programs in Division II history to accomplish the feat.
The roster blends experience and elite talent, highlighted by Kyle Lewis, who became the first Division II player drafted into the Premier Lacrosse League since 2021. In goal, newcomer Christian Tomei has been nothing short of sensational, posting the nation’s top save percentage and goals-against average—numbers that even surpass Division I leaders. Simply put, the Panthers look nearly unstoppable.

Adelphi Women’s Lacrosse: A Championship-Caliber Turnaround
After an uncharacteristic 0-4 start, Adelphi women’s lacrosse has flipped the script in emphatic fashion. The Panthers have rattled off nine consecutive wins and remain perfect in Northeast-10 (NE10) play, reestablishing themselves as a powerhouse.
With nine national championships—the most in Division II history—the program knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. Back-to-back appearances in the NCAA title game have only reinforced that expectation, and this recent surge suggests Adelphi is once again peaking at the right time.
Adelphi Softball: From Rebuild to Contender
Few teams have improved more dramatically than Adelphi softball. In just the second season under head coach Katie Apostolopoulos, the Panthers have already matched last year’s win total—with 16 games still remaining. Their 20-2 conference record is among the best in the NE10 and has propelled them into first place and regional relevance.
Behind clutch hitting and standout pitching performances, Adelphi has transformed from a rebuilding program into a legitimate postseason threat in a matter of months.
Adelphi Baseball: A New Era Taking Shape
Adelphi baseball is thriving in its first season under new leadership, signaling a promising future for the program. With 18 games left, the Panthers are already just two wins shy of last year’s 20-win total and boast a strong 14-8 conference record.
Offensively, the team has taken a major leap, ranking in the top three in batting average in the NE10 after finishing sixth a year ago. On the mound, fifth-year pitcher John Carver has emerged as one of the conference’s best, ranking top-five in ERA while leading the NE10 with 65 strikeouts—drawing attention from professional scouts.
Adelphi Tennis: Consistent Excellence
Adelphi’s tennis programs have been pillars of consistency this spring. The women’s team, with four conference titles to its name, and the men’s team, which has captured one, have both remained near the top of the NE10 standings throughout the season. With key wins over conference opponents and competitive showings against ranked teams, both squads are well-positioned for postseason success.
Adelphi Golf: Breaking Through
Both Adelphi golf programs are trending toward regional tournament appearances, marking a significant achievement—especially for the women’s team, which is on track for its first regional berth after earning an automatic qualifier in the fall. Strong individual performances and steady team finishes have highlighted a season of growth and breakthrough moments for the Panthers on the course.
From championship pursuits to breakthrough campaigns, Adelphi athletics is firing on all cylinders this spring. With elite teams, emerging stars, and multiple programs trending toward postseason success, the Panthers have built a résumé that few Division II schools can match. So, is Adelphi the top DII program this spring? The answer may ultimately be decided in the weeks ahead—but based on what they’ve already accomplished, the Panthers have made a compelling case that’s hard to overlook.
