The 2026 NCAA hoops season is officially wrapped up. With the final action taking place over the Easter weekend, a new champion is crowned in Division 3 Men's Hoops.

Mary Washington claimed it's first NCAA D3 men's national championship in an absolute thriller over Emory on Apr. 5.

In the 75-73 victory, it truly came down to the final buzzer as a late put-back sealed the deal for the Eagles.

The action for Indianapolis, Ind. was electric the whole way through as Emory carried a two point lead in to the halftime break. As the two teams traded jabs the entirety of the first half, the scoring efforts were fairly similar.

In the second half, the intensity remained the same but it was Emory that had the hot hand early as they extended their lead to the largest of the game at five points. Mary Washington battled back with an impressive 9-1 run in the final two minutes to give the Eagles a three point lead with just 47 seconds left.

A late three-pointer knotted things back up with just ten seconds left in regulation. Kye Robinson pushed the ball the length of the floor but just narrowly missed the layup for Mary Washington.

Colin Mitchell was waiting under the hoop through and picked up a pivotal rebound to finish the game with a put-back at the final horn.

Robinson would later go on to be named the Most Outstanding Player in the tournament for his efforts in the title game. The sophomore guard shot 12-22 from the field and had a career high 27 points in the contest against Emory.

The Eagles end their 2025-26 campaign with a 30-3 overall season record and ended the season on a 12 game win streak.

Emory ended its season with a 27-4 season record and a 12-2 record in UAA play
