The 2026 NCAA Division 2 softball season is still rolling right along. With the top talent in the sport taking the field each week, the hunt for the post season is getting stronger and stronger.
With West Texas A&M claiming the top spot in the D2 Top 25 poll through the games on Mar. 22, the Lady Buffs are hitting their peak with a season record of 31-3 and an 18 game win streak.
It's not just the Lone Star Conference that is producing great softball though, conferences across the country are playing elite level softball.
With a new week on the horizon, here is a look back at the week of Mar. 23 with the top five highlights and a look ahead at the coming week.

2.) Three RBIs For Coluccio
The Mercy Mavericks were all about the RBI game on Saturday, Mar. 28.
Julianna Coluccio has three RBIs in the contest against D'Youville. The Mavericks would go one to win the opening game of the double header 4-3.

3.) These Girls Are On Fire!
The season is rolling right along and these girls are on fire. The top-ten players with the best batting average have been released.
Lexi Pickett from Millersville tops the list with a .596.

4.) West Texas A&M Is A Force
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs are in cruise control as far as softball is concerned in the 2026 season.
The No.1 team in the nation is on a 18 game win streak with a 31-3 season record and a 21-1 conference record.

5.) Just 8-0 In Conference Play, No Big Deal
Three different schools from three different conferences are all 8-0 in their respective conference schedule.
Franklin Pierce represents the NE10 with an undefeated conference record and an 18-2 season record. Saginaw Valley State is 8-0 in GLIAC play with an 18-8 season record.
Hillsdale has an 8-0 record in G-MAC play with a 20-11 season record. Lenoir-Rhyne rounds out the undefeated conference record with an 8-0 record in SAC play with a 24-8 season record.
