Xiamen will host a gaggle of the world's best 400m runners to compete at the third leg of the Wanda Diamond League series.
Each earning their own prestigious accolades, Quincy Hall, Busang Collen Kebinatshipi and Jacory Patterson will all put up an intense fight for the crown on May 23.

Quincy Hall will be at the forefront of the event for the US after winning gold in the 400m the 2024 Paris Olympics. During his 43.40-second gold medal run, he suffered a leg injury which caused him to miss being a part of the 4x400m. He has since healed and is ready to take on Xiamen.
Hall was also a part of the gold medal 4x400m relay at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. While in Hungary, he also earned himself a bronze medal in the 400m.
Kebinatshipi joins Hall with his medal accolades. At the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, he earned himself two gold medals: one in the 4x400m and one in the open 400m.
Botswana's success in the 400m was in part due to Kepinatshipi's efforts, earning a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, to the US, which would have faced Hall if not for his injury.
A known competitor to Kebinatshipi is the USA's Jacory Patterson. Patterson was a part of the silver medal 4x400m relay team in Tokyo, which finished 0.07 seconds behind Team Botswana and Kebinatshipi.
While Patterson lacks the Olympic experience, he has a strong background at the Wanda Diamond League stage. At the 2025 meet in Zurich, Patterson stormed to a 43.85 400m to take the gold over a stacked field. Kebinatshipi was among the competitors that he bested during that meeting.
Hall, Kebinatshipi, and Patterson have faced many 400m battles over the past few years, and each has had their moment on top. Xiamen will foster an intense battle between the competitors over three rounds.
