In the world of NCAA D1 golf, the stakes are always high, but at this point of the season the goal is just to improve. The golfers across both sides of the CAA have proved their strengths on the links with top scores and cool heads as the season works rapidly to the end.

As the spring season progresses, Coastal Athletic Association golf continues to show depth and balance across both the men’s and women’s sides. With multiple teams appearing in national rankings and individuals delivering strong performances each week, the conference is building momentum toward the postseason.
With just a few short weeks to go, a little under a month to be exact, the CAA will be on par with the hope of a postseason bid on the horizon.
So with so much to unpack, here is a look back at the previous week in CAA golf action, include players of the week, rankings and some information about the upcoming CAA conference championships.
CAA Players of the Week
College of Charleston’s Loran Appel highlighted the week on the men’s side, earning CAA Golfer of the Week honors after a runner-up finish in his latest event. The performance adds to a strong spring for the Cougars, as Appel continues to provide consistency at the top of the lineup.
On the women’s side, North Carolina A&T’s Ekaterina Prokhorova earned Golfer of the Week recognition following a second-place finish. Prokhorova has been a steady presence near the top of leaderboards throughout the season and remains one of the conference’s most consistent performers.
Men’s Rankings
Charleston is ranked No. 53 (69-41-3, 40.52), while UNCW sits at No. 51 (67-28-0, 41.10), giving the league multiple teams inside the top 60. Elon rounds out the group at No. 70 (78-20-2, 36.97).
The presence of three ranked teams highlights the balance within the conference, with several programs positioning themselves for postseason contention.
Women’s Rankings
On the women’s side, three CAA teams appear in the national rankings, led by No. 57 Charleston (68-38-7, 29.43).
UNCW follows at No. 59 (50-52-1, 27.77). Each program has shown steady improvement throughout the spring and remains in the mix as the postseason approaches.
Looking Ahead
The CAA Women’s Golf Championship is scheduled for April 17-19 at The Clubs at St. James (Reserve Course) in Southport, North Carolina.
The CAA Men’s Golf Championship will follow April 26-28 at Dataw Island Golf Club in St. Helena Island, South Carolina.
Both championships will determine the conference’s automatic qualifiers to NCAA postseason play, adding further stakes to an already competitive field.
With multiple nationally ranked teams and players performing at a high level, the CAA enters the postseason with strong momentum. If recent results are any indication, both championship events are expected to feature tightly contested races and standout individual performances.
