The 2026 NCAA Division 3 women's basketball title has found a new home. The Denison women's basketball team claimed its first title in program history on Mar. 21.

The Bid Red were a powerhouse through the tournament and walked away with the ultimate prize after defeating Scranton, 55-41.
Both teams got off to a slow start but packed a punch on the defensive end of the floor. Through the first five minutes of play, Denison held on to a 6-4 lead. The blows would be traded back and forth but Scranton held on to a one point lead heading in to the second quarter.
The second quarter was still a slow one for both teams offensively, but key makes would allow Denison to lead by 8 at the half.
The last half of the game would see both teams find their stride as the shots began to fall. After a full third quarter of back-and-forth, the Big Red trailed by one heading in to the final quarter.
One last quarter of action saw each team put everything they had on the floor. Denison kept its foot on the gas and continued to knock down key shots, especially from beyond the arch.
After a late time out and Scranton trying to kill the clock, Abby Cooch became the hero with a corner three to secure the victory for the Big Red.
Cooch ended the night with 18 points, nine board and four assists. Ada Taute was also a key asset for Denison by picking up her second double-double of the season. Taute had 15 buckets and wrangled 10 boards for the Big Red.
