USA’s Jordan Anthony backed up the hype at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 2026, dropping a world-leading 6.41 to win gold in the men’s 60m.

Anthony came in as one of the favorites, but it was far from a done deal after the semifinals. In the semis, American Trayvon Bromell, the 2016 world indoor champ, fired off a 6.42 to edge Anthony’s 6.43 and looked ready to take control of the final. Instead, Anthony delivered when it mattered most, staying composed out of the blocks and pulling away late to win by 0.04.

Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson continued his streak of global podium finishes with silver in 6.45, adding to runner-up finishes at the 2024 Olympics and 2025 World Championships. Bromell held on for bronze in 6.451, just ahead of defending champion Jeremiah Azu, who finished fourth in 6.46.
