The FloRugby's Professional Club Power Rankings for Feb. 25 sees the Glasgow Warriors lead, while the Brumbies surge and the Crusaders slide.

The Kubota Spears moved to the top of Japan Rugby League One Division One at the halfway mark of the regular season after the reigning champions were dealt a rare, heavy loss.
The Kobelco Kobe Steelers stunned the previously unbeaten Saitama Wild Knights 40-24 on Saturday, erasing a 19-19 halftime tie with a dominant second half that included 21 unanswered points. The result dropped Saitama from first to third, with Kobe climbing, and Kubota jumping into the lead after a 26-10 win over the Mitsubishi Sagamihara Dynaboars.

Kobe, recording only its third win over the Wild Knights since a nationwide competition began in 2003, seized control after the break following a momentum swing just before halftime.
Saitama midfielder Damien de Allende scored for a third straight match, doing so in his 50th League One appearance, but Kobe’s response arrived through lock Gerard Cowley Tuioti before the interval.
Saitama fullback Ryuji Noguchi crossed late, denying Kobe a try bonus point, but the Steelers still delivered the Wild Knights’ biggest defeat since League One launched five years ago. It was only the eighth time in 83 matches that Saitama conceded more than 30 points, and just the second time such a game ended in a loss.
Kubota’s rise came with its own pressure moments.
The Spears beat the Dynaboars despite briefly dropping to 13 players in the second half after two yellow cards.
Mitsubishi scored during the numerical advantage but could not turn it into sustained control, and Kubota canceled the damage before returning to full strength.
Prop Opeti Helu’s late try sealed the result and secured a crucial bonus point in a four-tries-to-one win, extending Kubota’s home streak to 24 straight at Spears Edoriku Field.
The weekend also delivered a jolt in the title race behind the top 3.
Defending champion Toshiba Brave Lupus Tokyo slipped to fifth after a 52-21 demolition by Toyota Verblitz, a statement win for a side that had managed one victory in eight matches this season, before cutting loose with three tries in each half.
All Blacks Aaron Smith and Mark Telea were among the try scorers as Toyota earned a bonus point and gained separation from the relegation series positions.
Elsewhere, Tokyo Sungoliath routed Yokohama Canon Eagles 54-22, despite losing Sam Jeffries to a red card early in the second half, while BlackRams Tokyo pulled away from Urayasu D Rocks with a decisive post break surge. Mie Honda Heat beat Shizuoka BlueRevs 26-21 to tighten the chase for the top 6.
In Super Rugby Pacific, the Hurricanes opened their campaign with a 52-10 win over Moana Pasifika in Wellington, as Josh Moorby scored a hat trick, and Fehi Fineanganofo and Brayden Iose each added two tries.
The Waratahs stayed unbeaten with a 36-13 win over Fijian Drua, powered by two tries from Max Jorgensen and a debut double from Ioane Moananu.
The Chiefs made it eight straight wins over the Highlanders with a 26-23 victory in Dunedin, while the Blues beat the Western Force 42-32 in Perth. The Brumbies produced the round’s headline result, ending a 26-year wait to win in Christchurch with a 50-24 upset of the Crusaders.
How The Rankings Work
Our Professional Club Power Rankings are built on a dynamic rating system that updates after every confirmed result. Each team starts from a common performance baseline and moves up or down depending on three core factors: quality of opposition, match context and competition strength.
Beating a highly rated opponent carries significantly more value than defeating a lower-ranked side.
Away wins are weighted more heavily than home victories, while narrow losses to elite teams are treated differently from heavy defeats. Margin of victory is considered, but it is capped to prevent one lopsided score from distorting the model.
Competitions are tiered to reflect overall strength, ensuring that elite European fixtures influence ratings differently from emerging leagues. Cross-league adjustments allow clubs from different competitions to be compared on a unified global scale.
The model rewards consistency over time, rather than short-term spikes, producing a rolling performance index that reflects sustained quality, not just headline results.
