The Los Angeles City Section of the California Interscholastic Federation is small, but is it also mighty enough to land an athlete or two on the podium at the state meet?

The next step toward finding out will be at the 2026 CIF Los Angeles City Section Boys & Girls Wrestling Championships, and the day will be intense, as only two girls and one boy will advance to the 2026 CIF Wrestling Championships.

The LA City Section event will be a one-day extravaganza at the Edward R. Roybal Learning Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 14, and FloWrestling subscribers can catch all the action live on FloWrestling and the FloSports app.

Each division of the LA City Section Wrestling Championships – boys and girls – will feature a 16-athlete bracket that includes eight wrestlers from each of the two participating regions (Region 1 and Region 2).

The CIF-LA regional events are scheduled for Feb. 7.

Seeding for the section championship will be based on section rankings, and the stakes will be high, as mentioned above. Only two girls and one boy will remain in contention for state titles.

In all, California includes 10 geographic sections that all will be enduring the same challenges in February on their way to the 2026 CIF Wrestling Championships at Dignity Health Arena in centrally located Bakersfield, California, from Feb. 26-28.

At the 2025 LA City Section Championships, Birmingham took the boys title, beating out San Fernando. The girls championship also went to Birmingham. See all the 2025 results here.
