The UW-River Falls Falcons captured their first NCAA Division III football national championship with a 24-14 victory over the North Central Cardinals.

The UW-River Falls Falcons captured their first NCAA Division III football national championship with a 24-14 victory over the North Central Cardinals in the Stagg Bowl on January 4 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
The trip to Canton was a first in Falcon Football history. Meanwhile, the North Central Cardinals made their sixth consecutive Stagg Bowl appearance as they looked to continue their era of excellence.

After trailing 14-3 early, River Falls scored 21 straight points to take control. Senior QB Kaleb Blaha led the charge, finishing with 419 total yards and three touchdowns, helping the Falcons outgain North Central 436 to 363 yards.
Defensively, UWRF shut out the Cardinals in the second half, highlighted by key plays including two interceptions, and sealed a historic 14-1 season with the program’s first national title.
