On the women’s side, the UAA has four teams ranked in the Top 25, showcasing remarkable balance and competitiveness from top to bottom:

• No. 1 NYU — Sitting atop the national polls, the Violets have been a model of consistency and excellence as they look to repeat last season's success with another national championship title. NYU is off to a perfect 11-0 start and averaging 104.3 points per game.
• No. 9 Emory — A perennial contender yet again, Emory continues to build on its rich basketball legacy. The Eagles held an unblemished record through the first half of the season, only taking their first loss last weekend to No. 8 Washington and Lee.
• No. 14 WashU — The Bears remain a threat in every matchup with their disciplined and fiery play. WashU holds a 9-2 overall record with its most recent win coming over Christopher Newport to close out 2025.
• No. 15 UChicago — Rounding out the quartet, the Maroons are proving they belong among the nation’s elite. UChicago kicked off the new year with a convincing road win over Wheaton (IL).

Meanwhile, the men’s poll reflects similar dominance with three UAA programs in the Top 10:

• No. 3 Emory — A national title contender with a complete roster on both ends of the court. The Eagles' most impressive win to date was a 101-73 victory over No. 16 Hampden-Sydney, which closed out 2025.
• No. 4 UChicago — The Maroons have continued their strong tradition of performance with big wins and tight, competitive basketball. UChicago holds a 10-1 overall record, and with their most recent win over Wheaton (IL), the Marrons improve to the team's best start since 1997.
• No. 8 WashU — Another UAA powerhouse, the Bears combine athleticism and smarts to stay firmly in the national conversation. WashU kicked off 2026 by winning the Glenn Van Wieren Classic with a 94-68 win over the University of Olivet. The Bears improve to 10-1 overall as they head in UAA play next weekend.
