Cal Poly Pomona women’s basketball is putting together a season that has not been seen in more than two decades.
The Broncos sit alone atop the CCAA standings with an 11-1 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. They are riding a 10-game winning streak that has reshaped expectations around the program.
It marks Cal Poly Pomona’s first 11-1 start since the 1998-99 season, a milestone reached through steady growth and consistent execution on both ends of the floor.

The lone setback came early, a one-point loss to Azusa Pacific in the second game of the season. Since then, the Broncos have not looked back, stacking wins against conference opponents and nationally recognized competition, including a statement victory over Central Washington when the Wildcats were ranked No. 17 in Division II.
Cal Poly Pomona has controlled games with efficiency and balance. The Broncos are outscoring opponents by more than 13 points per game, shooting 41.8 percent from the field while holding opponents to 32.3 percent. They have also owned the glass, building a clear rebounding edge that has fueled transition opportunities and second-chance points.
Sydney Nelson continues to lead the offense, pacing the team with 171 points. Andrea Stajic has provided steady leadership in extended minutes, anchoring the backcourt. In the most recent outing, Cal Poly Pomona defeated Cal State East Bay 77-61, with Nelson scoring 22 points and Brielle Minor tying a school record with 14 assists, matching a mark set in 1989.
With Chico State and Cal Poly Humboldt chasing in the standings, the Broncos carry momentum into their next matchup against Cal State Monterey Bay, firmly in control of their conference path.
