Hofstra Men's Basketball Surges To No. 2 In CAA After Rapid Turnaround
Hofstra men’s basketball has climbed to No. 2 in the CAA with an 11-4 record, fueled by a six-game win streak and strong play on both ends.

Hofstra men’s basketball has engineered one of the most notable turnarounds in the CAA this season.
After finishing 11th in the 13-team conference a year ago, the Pride now sit second in the league standings, trailing only UNCW. Hofstra enters the heart of conference play with an 11-4 overall record and a perfect 2-0 mark in CAA action, signaling a rapid rise built on consistency and balance.

The season did not begin smoothly. Hofstra opened with back-to-back losses to UCF and Iona, but the response was emphatic. The Pride have since rattled off six consecutive wins, their longest streak since the 2022-23 season, when they once won 12 straight.
Conference play has highlighted that growth. Hofstra opened with an 86-72 home win over Campbell before grinding out a 70-67 victory at Drexel. In Philadelphia, the Pride jumped out early, outscoring the Dragons 40-25 in the first half before withstanding a late surge. Junior guard Cruz Davis led the way with 20 points, adding five assists and six rebounds, while AJ Wills anchored the defense down the stretch to seal the win.
Statistically, Hofstra has controlled games on both ends. The Pride are outscoring opponents by more than 11 points per game, shooting 47.3 percent from the field while holding opponents below 40 percent. Davis, Preston Edmead and Biggie Patterson have powered an offense that continues to gain confidence.
For a program searching for momentum last season, Hofstra has found it — and quickly.
