The 2025 NCAA D1 FCS playoffs are still going strong! With just four teams remaining in the overall bracket, semi-final Saturday. is just around the corner.

The CAA is still represented in this lengthy post-season as Villanova will continue its historic season in the semi-finals. 

The Wildcats will head into the contest on Dec. 20 as the 12 seed and will take on non-seeded Illinois State. The path to the semi-finals has not been easy for Villanova as the teams has been tested time and time again. 

In the quarterfinal matchup on Dec. 13, the Wildcats narrowly escaped the fourth-seeded Tarleton State Texans, 26-21. The victory saw Pat McQuaide go 16-for-33 on pass completion with 180 yards and one crucial touchdown toss to push the Wildcats past the Texans.

When is Villanova vs. Illinois State Football?

Villanova and Illinois State will kick off at 6:30 PM CT/ 7:30 PM ET on Saturday, Dec. 20. The game will be streamed on ESPN2.
