#2 Ohio State Wrestling Faces #3 Iowa State At Journeymen Collegiate Duals
#2 Ohio State faces Little Rock and #3 Iowa State at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals on Sunday, December 21, at 1 p.m. ET.

Ohio State (8-0) travels to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Journeymen Collegiate Duals on Sunday, December 21, live on FloWrestling. The Tom Ryan-led squad opens with Little Rock (2-4) at 1 p.m. ET, followed by #3 Iowa State (2-0) at 3 p.m. ET.
The second-ranked Buckeyes have looked sharp this season, winning the National Duals Invitational on November 15-16 over several of the country’s top teams. Their 26-10 victory over #11 NC State on December 12 was another benchmark for this title-contending squad.
Below are schedules, probable lineups, key matchups, and dual records for all three teams.
Ohio State’s Journeymen Collegiate Duals Schedule
Sunday, December 21
1 p.m. ET: #2 Ohio State vs Little Rock
3 p.m. ET: #2 Ohio State vs #3 Iowa State
Five Marquee Match-ups
The Ohio State vs Iowa State dual feels like the All-Star Classic, with five top 10 match-ups and every wrestler ranked in the top 21. Here are five key matchups that will have seeding implications at the NCAA Championships. This is the last time these teams will face each other, so every win (or loss) holds added significance.
133: #2 Ben Davino (OSU), 13-0 vs #3 Evan Frost (ISU), 9-0
Davino and Frost are chasing 2025 NCAA champion Lucas Byrd from Illinois. Davino has seven tech falls in 13 matches and has looked like a title contender all season. He already has a 10-4 win over Drake Ayala (Iowa), a two-time national finalist. Frost, a 2024 All-American, is also undefeated, with an 11-5 victory over Ayala. One takedown or riding time will likely determine this one. This would be the first college meeting between Davino and Frost.
141: #1 Jesse Mendez (OSU), 8-0 vs #4 Anthony Echemendia (ISU), 8-0
Mendez is a man on a mission. The Buckeye senior is a two-time NCAA champion seeking a third in 2026. Only one opponent — returning national finalist Brock Hardy — has kept a match against Mendez to a decision. Echemendia, a fifth-place finisher at the 2024 NCAA Championships, is fresh off a Cliff Keen-Las Vegas Invitational title. These two met at the 2024 NCAA Championships semifinals and earlier this year at the NWCA All-Star Classic, with Mendez winning 6-4 and 7-3.

157: #5 Brandon Cannon (OSU), 9-1 vs #3 Vinny Zerban (ISU), 8-1
Cannon took a loss to high schooler Melvin Miller this season, but he’s perfect against college competition. Zerban reached the Cliff Keen-Las Vegas Invitational finals but forfeited to Ty Watters (West Virginia). Zerban defeated Cannon, 11-6, in the Round of 12 at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The former Northern Colorado star eventually finished sixth.
165: #12 Paddy Gallagher (OSU), 9-3 vs #6 Matty Banchi (LR), 5-0
Gallagher has three sudden victory losses this season and six bonus point wins. Bianchi finished seventh at the 2025 NCAA Championships and is undefeated this season. This would be the first college meeting between Gallagher and Biachi.
285: #3 Nick Feldman (OSU), 10-1 vs #1 Yonger Bastida (ISU), 9-0
This Ohio State vs Iowa State dual could come down to heavyweight, and this would be a great way to end it. Feldman lost to NC State’s Isaac Trumble, 5-1, on December 12, and a win over top-ranked Yonger Bastida could be an important win down the stretch. The task is tall, though. Feldman fell to Bastida, 13-5, at the 2023 Cliff Keen-Las Vegas Invite, so this is an opportunity to prove he has closed the gap. Bastida has six falls/tech falls this season.
