When Is The Penn State Wrestling vs. Wyoming Dual In 2025?

Last season, the Penn State and Wyoming wrestling teams met for the first time in their long histories, and they’ll be back in action this weekend to see if the Nittany Lions can go up 2-0, or if the Cowboys can pull off the upset at home to even the series.

The top-25 showdown will take place Dec. 13 at the Arena-Auditorium on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie, Wyoming, at 8 p.m. Eastern. All of the action will unfold live on FloWrestling and the FloSports app.

The first matchup between the two teams took place on Penn State’s home turf, with PSU winning 54-0.

The Nittany Lions hit the road this time, days removed from falling from the No. 1 spot in the FloWrestling NCAA DI Wrestling Rankings for the first time since November 2021.

Penn State, the four-time defending NCAA Division I team national champion, has seen limited mat time this year but has put together a 3-0 record in dual meets, in addition to a successful trip to New York for the recent Black Knight Invitational.

None of that was enough to hold off a surging Ohio State, which landed atop the rankings, one point ahead of Penn State. Iowa is another half point back at No. 3.

Despite only a pair of wins so far this season, Wyoming was seventh at the 2025 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Invitational and catapulted up the latest edition of the rankings, going from No. 31 to No. 24.

Penn State is coming off wins against Drexel (43-3 on Dec. 5) and Lehigh (36-6 on Dec. 7).

The weekend of the inaugural National Duals Invitational, which featured 11 of the top 12 teams from the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and paid Ohio State $200,000 for its win over Iowa in the title tilt, Penn State was opening its season by welcoming Oklahoma to the Bryce Jordan Center for a dual that ended with a 45-0 Penn State victory.

Wyoming is looking to ride the momentum from the Cliff Keen event, where the Cowboys' top-10 finish was fueled by individual runner-up performances from Joey Novak (197) and Christian Carroll (285).

Overall this year, Wyoming is 2-2, including wins over Western Wyoming Community College and California Baptist.

The Cowboys also got to compete in the National Duals Invitational, but they lost to Ohio State (33-6) and Virginia Tech (25-12).
